Overview of Christianity
Christianity vs. All Others
First and foremost, why Christianity? What sets Christianity apart from all other religions or systems of belief?
And that is easier to explain than you would think.
First, God, in eternity past, looked down through the tunnel of time, and saw all of the possible realities that could exist. God is pretty smart so He can do this.
God saw the actions of Satan, the actions of man, and had to come up with a plan whereby both angel and man could not disregard truth and make up their own versions of truth, and thus prevent the spreading of lies that would destroy everything.
There are two systems of thought in existence. First there is the truth, wherein the facts of life match perfectly with reality. And then there are the lies of life wherein the facts are invented and do not match reality, even when a bit or a lot of truth is threaded into those invented facts.
Truth - jump off of a hundred story high building and your life will end when you hit the ground below.
Lie - jump off of a hundred story high building and your life will be fine when you hit the ground below.
Which would you believe?
Well, of course most 'normal' folks will believe the truth because it is so obvious, graphic, and easily proven because there have been some folks that have actually jumped off of tall buildings, and their lives did end.
But, there are some folks who will argue the outcome, but of course will not themselves try to prove it!
Anyway, truth verses lies, is the issue when considering a relationship with God.
Satan was one of the brightest if not the smartest, of all of the angels. He wanted to be like, if not better than, the Most High. This began the concept of arrogance, which is a rejection of truth and the pursuit of the lie.
